30 day draw-a-thon. Day 1: The Laughing Man

i'm going to draw something everyday for 30 days starting august 1st. something not related to These Bears.

apparently it takes 30 days to form a new habit. and i want to draw everyday. need to draw better, faster, more frequently and with more variety.

first up is The Laughing Man. this is a guy from an Italian B Horror movie called Graveyard Disturbance.

i'm experimenting with the watercolor patterns, since it's what i plan on using when it comes time to color Jesus Goes To Hell.

"what's Jesus Goes To Hell?" it's a comic i'm making. i've been working on it since feb 2012. it'd be really great if i can finish it and release it on christmas day. #satanpoints

it's like "UNHOLY TERROR" but instead of TER it says BEAR.

cody dickover was the 100th fan on these bears on facebook. so he gets a bearicature.

but i couldn't draw the captain without his crew. so here's the harrington gang (in alphabetical order: cody, dario, jon, ross, steve)

i added dario even though he doesnt live there anymore. and he may not even have that mustache but whatever fuck him if hedoesn't.

steve, sorry about your hair. i really didn't want you to look like eminem or anything. btu i gave you a trainer badge and a shark.

when i asked "if you could see a bear do anythign what would it be?", matt responded with "escape form castle wolfenstein.

i just can't resist that. so here's some practice and hopefully that'll be ready next week.

steampunk/cyberpunk mad max fallout scifi post-apocalypse whatever

steampunk

current project. unfinished steampunk portrait (to add to the archive page) from a comic that hasn't been finished either. "these bears are surviving the wastelands" just needs to be inked and colored.

EDIT: i made have been hasty with the term "steampunk." this may be more accurately described as "cyberpunk." but who gives a shit? i don't.

these bears are mega hyper turbo!!!

this one took forever. while it was personally rewarding, i'm very glad it's over.

i'd like to thank josh, kyle, and nathan for the thaidayfriday conversation that lead to me adding the macho man elbow drop. it's my favorite part.
